Heather Hibbard

and Supervision

Hello there, thanks for stopping by! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and LPC-Supervisor. I attended Stephen F. Austin State University where I completed my Bachelors in Psychology. I then went on to complete my Masters in Counseling at Amberton University. I live in locally in The Colony, I am married, and have two little ones- ages ten and seven. My kids are fun and keep me very busy, they often challenge me to find my inner calm that I try teach my clients :) My hobby is my home. I love home decor and finding ways to make my house feel warm and cozy.

Over the last several years I have enjoyed working with children, teens, and adults who struggle with negative behavior patterns, family conflict, life transitions, depression, and anxiety. I feel now, more than ever, it is my job as a mental health professional to assist our teens in learning to "fit" into the tech world that is unfamiliar to the parents of our teen generation. Likewise, we adults are trying to scramble up the energy and esteem it takes to survive in this very fast paced world. Sometimes it's tough, but I can help. I try to guide individuals to be a better them, develop more meaningful relationships, and create a more positive perception of themselves, others, and the world.

I also specialize in assisting expecting couples and new parents to prepare for the emotional, physical, and relational changes that come with having a new baby. Although, no matter how much we prepare, when the new baby arrives new moms often experience a lot of different emotions that are sometimes hard to manage. I can help with that too, whether it be mild anxiety or postpartum depression. Being a mother of two young kids myself, I understand the difficulties that come with the new role. By processing your emotions and the experiences you are having, as well as learning tools to better manage them, my hope is for you to feel more confident as a new mom.
